Pedro Lourenço, the new La Perla Creative Director, brings his architectural approach reinterpreting the codes of intimates with collections of lingerie, nightwear, swimwear, loungewear and accessories. Presented in the stunning Palazzo Spinola during the Milan Fashion Week, the collections reveal his collage of influences: the curvaceous forms of Brazil’s master architect Oscar Niemeyer, the graphical experimentations of the German postwar art movement Zero, the decorative references of the Edo period in Japan. Design and technical innovation are combined with the beauty and craftsmanship of the brand’s heritage, epitomized by the avant-garde Autografo embroidered tulle. Graphical silhouettes redefine intimates with the nudity of the body used like a canvas for dégradé effects with laser cuts and micro-paillette linear motifs. The optical illusions, created with nude tulle and transparent PVC, allow functional elements, like the cup of a bra, to float uncannily on the body. The idea of extended intimacy imbues the collection with the glamour of lingerie in styles that easily transition from home to an evening out.

LIFESTYLE

Lourenço’s stylistic vision delineates in a full collection of accessories: bags, shoes, jewelry, belts, and hats completes La Perla’s lifestyle proposition. Shoes echo the brand’s profound sensuality, with ankle straps and feminine heels enhanced by graphic illusions. The architectural sun hats present a dramatic new silhouette, rendered strikingly in rigid cotton. Sterling silver jewelry, calfskin belts, and bags in leather or canvas complete looks with a casual elegance in tune with La Perla’s style codes.
