La Perla Jean Paul Gaultier Collection Createur Presentation La Perla Jean Paul Gaultier Collection Createur Presentation
La Perla hosted a cocktail party at its Madison Avenue flagship boutique to celebrate the US debut of La Perla Jean Paul Gaultier Collection Createur. The event, sponsored by Sentient Jet, gave an exclusive preview of Gaultier's designs for La Perla, which, true to La Perla's heritage, embody both feminity and seductiveness and celebrate the beauty of the female form. Models were adorned in various pieces from the collection, from waist-cinching corsets to high-waisted briefs, and even a number of styles reminiscent of Gaultier's iconic designs for Madonna, specifically her famous pointed bra cups from her Blonde Ambition tour. This exclusive collection will be available in early 2011 in La Perla boutiques nationwide, as well as exclusive department stores, Jean Paul Gaultier boutiques, and select high-end fashion stores. Gaultier's recent collaboration with Roche Bobois on a collection of high-end furniture was also showcased at the cocktail party.

La Perla's latest swimwear collection and Fred Leighton gems took center stage at a David Stark-designed afternoon event La Perla's latest swimwear collection and Fred Leighton gems took center stage at a David Stark-designed afternoon event
As featured in Hamptons Magazine. Sipping cocktails amid the extravagance of the Riviera while watching an afternoon fashion show seems miles from the laid-back aesthetic of the Hamptons. But on July 30, several prestigious Hamptonites created that scene, at a ladies luncheon cohosted by Suzy Biszantz of La Perla at the prestigious Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club. Models showcased printed swimwear from La Perla's East Hampton boutiques and jewelry from Fred Leighton. "We wanted to create exciting looks that evoked the timeless glamour of the Italian and French Riviera," said Greg Kwiat, CEO of the luxury jewelry brand. Event planner and designer David Stark complemented the beachside setting by dressing tables in a white eyelet fabric enhanced with a glimmering display of glass cylinders filled with lilies and beach grasses. "I like to revisit all the standards of a party and reinvent," said Stark. "Why do anything standard?" Guests mingled on the deck and enjoyed La Marca procecco before being treated to an elegant spread from Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs. Following the meal, guests cooled off with Xanté ice pops and O.N.E. coconut water. A decadent tasting plate of desserts provided just enough sugar to spark the end of a beautiful afternoon by the beach - or, as Biszantz put it, "an excellent way to enjoy an afternoon in the Hamptons."

Streets Without Walls Art Charity Streets Without Walls Art Charity
STREET ART BECOMES ART CHARITY From 13 April to 3 May Florence (Italy) will become a great melting pot of buskers with an urban art event promoted by the Venerabile Arciconfraternita della Misericordia, the first charity company in the world, in operation since 1244. This Florentine institution has decided to promote and support the event Streets Without Walls as a first stage in favour of the project Art Charity "Villaggio San Sebastiano” to finance a vanguard structure for the accommodation of the intellectively disabled, an European research centre and an art-therapy complex. The event involves about sixty artists, among the most interesting on the Italian and European urban art scene and is split into a number of appointments in various parts of the city. The opening saw the Milanese Bros at work on a large fabric in front of the facade of the Palazzo della Misericordia alongside the Cathedral. At the same time, a live painting session was staged and a number of artists intervened on a selection of La Perla creations, transforming them into one-of-a-kind collection pieces. In particular, the team of urban artists, Dado & Stefy, known at international level for their intense creative activity with frequent forays into fashion, has "customised” two special pieces of the La Perla Prêt-à-Porter collection, a white wedding gown transformed by a myriad brush and spray painted pink flowers and a green silk dress of the S/S 2009 collection, made one of a kind by trickles of colour. All the La Perla garments will be auctioned together with the works donated by the individual artists on the website www.villaggiosansebastiano.it.

The new La Perla space in Via Manzoni 17 - Milan (Italy) was inaugurated on Saturday 28th March. Besides the men’s collections (Grigioperla and Grigioperla Sport) you can now see women’s underwear and beachwear in the boutique and to which one of the three shop windows looking out onto the street will always be given over to. Suggestions in black and white, lamps and design elements create the idea of a complete universe dedicated to the La Perla world declining for man and woman alike.
